  • Scope and Content
"I was very pleased to have your letter with all the news about my Sister. I am sure you must have taken much time and trouble to have done so much. I had a letter a few days ago from my Sister, she appeared to be very comfortable and was very appreciative at the attention and everything in general she receives. She said the food was good. All the points you mentioned I intended to say when next I write you for which I extend a special thanks. So in case of emergency the Hospital could contact me. Well, I am wondering if anything special has been diagnosed up to date. If my Sister should recover sufficiently to return home, we here are wondering what could be done, as she could never again under the conditions previously, be left alone, especially in such a big place, it is going I fear to prove a great problem, we must wait for a while and see how things plan out. Regarding the cost of the commode and dressing gown also the three or more items you purchased, please send me the cost of all these and I will settle with you. It is also good of Miss Preston to have lent a hand, as she and my Sister had been good friends over a number of years as you know. yes, your mother cannot be left alone on Sunday mornings. Well, I do hope to hear a favourable report later, which the Hospital might say, when you visit again at a little later date. Thank you all for your good wishes for my speedy recovery. I hope that I shall be able to walk with greater eases again soon. My Doctor says "patience is a virtue". Am glad the Police have been informed about my Sister being at Bedford, no doubt they will keep an eye on the place. So much damage everywhere is being done with the "louts" of today, nothing seems safe anywhere. Please convey to your Mother and Sister best wishes from my Wife and self. And kindest regards to you".
