- thanks him for the pamphlet on Ampthill church;
- refers to the book by Walter Nicholls and encloses photocopied pages [see AU10/67/3];
- wondering if Richard's birth date is wrong as his siblings seem to have been born much earlier and admitting that he is not convinced by Walter Nicholls assertion that his Francis and Richard were brothers;
- Rev.John Hillam was Vicar of Ampthill on his visit in Nov 1944;
- hoped to revisit Ampthill in 1971 when American Bar Association held its annual convention in England
