- he had just discovered that Alfred Abbis was known as Phizzer because he smelled of fish from his part time delivery round and lived at Easter Cottage, 22 Woburn Street with a large store adjoining and forge behind; he also had a workshop in George yard opposite, his favourite saying was "Most people live in a fool's paradise", he was the last Abbis blacksmith and was also a coachbuilder, contemporary Abbis blacksmiths were unrelated
