    [f. 213] John Bayre/Bare of Thurley made 1546 pr. 13 Dec. 1546. Burial in the churchyard of Thurley. To the mother church of Lincoln 2d.; to the high altar for tithes forgot 6d.; to the bells 12d.. To Alys his wyff "during owt my Ferme my yeres" i.e., his leasehold for the remainder of the lease. To son William a two year old heifer and the tyre of a cart, also testator's worsted doublet and his buckskin doublet and 20s. in money. To daughter Ezabell a two year old heifer, and testator's best coat and 20s.. To his mother a quarter of barley at the harvest of the next crop. Residue to wife Alys, executrix. with Richard Derling overseer. Witnesses Richard Derling, John Whighman. "Provydyt that yff my wyff do mary she shall geve to hir brother wiche as she doth truste beste the mony for my childern' or she mary, And yff any do dye, the other to have his portion".
