    [f. 193] John Wyt of Sowethyevell made 12 June pr. 10 Oct.1546. "I bequeth my soull unto the grace and marcy of my savior and Redemer Jesus Criste, to our blessed lady sanct Mary And to all the holy company of heven". Burial in the church yard of Sowthill; to the high altar there for tithes and offerings forgotten 2s.; to the mother church of Lincoln 2d.; to the torches in Sowthyevell 8d.; to the bells there 20d.; to the "hyrse" light 12d.. To his son Thomas Wyt 2 oxen which are at Kempston, a shod cart, a colt, a sheep and a quarter of barley. To each of his sons John and William 2 steers "able to worke", a sheep and a quarter of barley. To son Henry 2 steers, a sheep and a quarter of barley. To each of his daughters Anne, Elezabeth and Elen a heifer or a cow bullock, a sheep and a quarter of barley. The legacy of any child dying before they come to lawful age to be divided among the survivors. To his mother in law Margret Wyt a quarter of barley. To Simond Cowper a lamb and a quarter of barley. Brother William Wyt to be an executor, and he to have 6s. 8d., and wife Alys Wyt to be the other executor. William Lenton the elder to be supervisor, he to have for his labour a bullock and testator's green coat. Residue to wife Alys to bring up his children. Witnesses sir Thomas Beste priest, Mistress Alys Peke, Clement Est, Symond Cowper.
