    Folio 176 - William Edward of Henlowe made 9 July pr. 20 July 1546. "I bequeth my soull unto Allmeghtie God And to our lady Sanct Mary, and all the blessed company of Heven my body to be bered within the churche yerde of Henlow where my Frendes heretofore have bene beried. Item I bequeth to be prayd for to Master vicar, and for tythes forgotten.." 10s.; to the church of Henlow 2s.; to the church of Lincoln 4d.. His house and land to his son Robert. Wife Elzabeth to have the house during the "nonage" of Robert while she remains single, otherwise his executors are to have the property until Robert comes of age. To daughter Jone 5 quarters of barley, a cow and a bullock, 6 sheep, and a bed with all that belongs to it. To daughter Agnes 5 quarter of barley, a cow and a bullock, 3 sheep, and a bed with all that belongs to it. The cattle are to go to the daughters immediately after testator's death; and their barley to be given them at the Purification of the B.V.M. next coming; the other goods half at the same feast and the other half the same day twelvemonth. Moveables to be divided between wife Elzabeth and son Robert, he to have his portion at the age of 18 years. Should wife remarry sureties for Robert's legacies to be given to the executors. Should son Robert die before he come to the age of 18, then his legacy to be divided between his sisters. Executors Thomas Edwarde of Sundon and Thomas Dawson of Henlow, each to have 6s. 8d.. "They to dysspose at my beryall and month day what they shall thingk good to there discrescion". Overseer Michael Cowper, he to have 6s. 8d.. Witnesses Thomas Willys of Henlow, vicar, Richard Underwod, Richard Sandon, Luke Edward of Rokkinge in Hartford county. The surrender [of his copyholding] delivered into the hands of Michael Cowper and John Wakefild, witnessed by Richard Sandon, Thomas Dawson.
