    Folio 170d - William Gregory of Eversholt, senior, made 7 Apr., pr. 10 May 1546. "In the name of the father, and of the sonne and of the Holy Goste so be yt" "I bequeth and Commend my soull unto Allmeghtie God and Desyre that my body may be bered in the Churche Yerd of Eversholt". To the mother church of Lincoln 2d.; to the high altar of Eversholt 10s. or an altar cloth price 10s.. To the parson of Eversholt to pray for testator 4d.; to the amendment of the way in Whyttes Ende and Longlayne 20s.., and to the repair and maintenance of the bells in Eversholt 12d.. To a priest to say a trental of masses for testator's soul 10s.. For the marriage of testator's daughter Cristian as much in goods as her sisters have had. To every grandchild one ewe and one lamb. Son Ambrose to have the rule and keeping of the 5 ewes and lambs for the children of Richard Cowper and testator's daughter Jone Cowper his wife, and Richard not to meddle with them. To daughter Jone Cowper and to Humfrey her son all testator's copy and term of years that he has in the house where she dwells, and in all the grounds belonging to the same house. Should the same Humfrey chance to die before the end of the years, then property to go to another of her children until the end of the term of years. Residue to testator's wife Emme while she remains single, but if she remarries then the remainder to go to sons Ambrose and George, and she to have £10 only. Executors wife and son Ambrose, overseer son William. To sons Ambrose and George and their heirs all the lands and tenements that testator purchased in Eversholt (except the parcels given to son William and his heirs) which are to be divided between them with Ambrose having the first choice.
