    Folio 148d - William Persay of Edworth, husbandman, made 1 Dec. 1545, pr. 7 Apr. 1546. "I commend my soull to Allmeghtie God" . Burial in church yard of Edworth. To son in law John Barley his best gown and best hose; to daughter Elzabeth Barley , the featherbed and bolster which are already in her keeping. To his servant John Pede a cow to be given to him when he marries. To servant Henry Kechen 12d..To Robert Bridell 2s.. To servant Henry Mylward 2s. .Four shillings of good money to be distributed among testator's poor neighbours in Edworth. If four of his godchildren will bear his body to the church, he gives to each of them 4d., and to the other bearers 2d. each. Wife Elene to have for life all testator's land in fields of Exnynge in the county of Suffock, if he has not previously sold it, and she will have the power to sell the same land, and if she does not, then her executors are to sell it, and from the money arising John Barley, son of testator's son-in-law John Barley, to have £6 13s. 4d., but should he have died before the sale, then the money is to be divided between the other children of John Barley the son-in-law. Of these other children William and Elzabeth Barley shall each have a bullock. Remainder to wife Elene, executrix, she to do for testator's soul and for all Christian souls as she shall think best. Witnesses Master Thomas Deconson parson of Edworth, Symon Taler priest, Henry Richardes priest, Edward Wygges, with others.
