- TitleFolio 121d - John Caton of Pulloxhill made 8 Sep. pr. 11 Nov. 1545. Burial in the church yard of St. James in Pulloxhill. To mother church of Lincoln 4d.; to high altar of Pulloxhill for tithes and oblations forgotten 12d.; "I geve to the chuche of Sanct James of Pulloxehill to by bookes in mayntenance of Goddes servys 2s.". To son Richard the best horse, the best shod cart and a dung cart, the best brass pot "and the leyd as it hangeth", also testator's best green coat, his best feather bed and the second coverlet, the best blanket, 2 pillows and a bolster, also all the coffers except the best, the second best cupboard, and the largest cushion; all the cart gear, the plough and the plough gear. To John Mekeley a long cart and a dung cart, and the dun horse. To Robert Wodward the long cart without wheels and a dungcart, the "grymed" nag, his russet coat and best doublet. To John Mekeley also his best hose. To each of Richard Caton's children a bushel of barley, if it may be spared. To daughter Alys Caton his black horse, his best black cow, 2 sows (one of the bigger, one of the lesser sort); all testator's brass and pewter, and all sheets and linen, the second featherbed with the best coverlet and greatest coffer, his brazen mortar and one cob iron and a spit, a frying pan and all the painted cloths, except the painted cloth that hangs in the hall which is to go to son Richard. Residue to be divided between son Richard and daughter Alys, they to be executors. Witnesses Richard Kente vicar of Pulloxhill, William King senior, Thomas Man, John Hobkynges.
