    Folio 120d - John Asshewell of Toternoo, gent., made 15 Oct. 1545 pr. 18 Jan. 1545/6. Burial in Toternoo church; to mother church of Lincoln 2d.; to the high altar for tithes forgotten 3s. 4d.; towards the building of the steeple 20s. All lands to be distributed according to a deed made previously. To his mother Asshewell a house called Hochynes alias Peytyttes. To son Peter Asshewell the lease testator has of the parsonage of Toternoo, and he to enjoy the profits being advised by Master Thomas Sanders of Agmundessham and his son John Saunders (both of Bucks), William Asshewell senior and John Pedder and Henry Mowres all of Toternoo. Should son Peter die without issue then the lease to go to testator's daughter Asshewell, and should his daughter die without issue then lease to pass to testator's wife Elzabeth, and on her death go to the next of testator's blood. To his daughter 20 nobles. To Alys Bostred a red bullock of 2 years old. To niece Margrete Asshewell 40s.. He gives 3 beasts to support a yearly obit for soul of himself and all Christians, which beasts the church wardens shall let for 5s.. Residue to wife Elzabeth and she is to spend £3 at his burial and months day. Executors Master Thomas Saunders and testator's wife Elzabeth, and brother William Asshewell supervisor. Witnesses sir Edmund Ynce priest, John Smyth, John Pedder, Henry Moweres.
