Burial in the church yard of the Holy Apostles Peter and Paul "at the Fete of my Father at the Chaunsell ende"; to the high altar for tithes forgot 6d.; to mother church of Lincoln 1d.; a whole trental to be done for testator and his friends by an honest priest "so good chepe as it may be gotten"; to the bells 12d.; to the Sepulchre light of his parish church 8d.. Wife Agnes to have all his lands and tenements in Thurley, Revunesden and Bolnehurst for her lifetime, while she remains unmarried, and after her death or remarriage the property to descend to testator's eldest son William for his lifetime, and on death of William property to go to testator's son Thomas for his lifetime, and on Thomas' death property to go to testator's son John for his lifetime, and on his death property to go to testator's son Edward, and on Edward's death property to go to the heir male of eldest son William, for life, and for lack of such issue, then to heir male of son Thomas for life, and for lack of such issue, to the heir male of son John for life, and for lack of such issue to heir male of son Edward for life, and for lack of such heirs male then the property to go to "the nexte Right eyres males of the consanguinite or blode of the name of the Slaydes". His heirs to keep for ever a solemn obit in parish church of Thurley "for one William Berre for a certen close and land lying in the towne and Fildes of Reysley" which land pays yearly 8s., which money. has always been distributed among poor people by testator according to the last will of William Berre, and on testator's death the rent of the close and land is to be received by testator's heirs, and the money given to poor people in Thurley "as they will answere before God and All Sanctes at the day of Jugement". In default of heirs of his line, then rent to be collected by church wardens of Thurley. His heirs to raise from his lands and tenements 16d. on Good Friday evermore, of which 4d. to be given to an honest priest for a mass in Thurley parish church; and the other 12d. to be given to poor people. To daughter Jone 40s. "and hir Chamber so good as hir mother is able to performe it". To son John 20s. and an acre of land in Colmorth; To son Thomas 26s. 8d.. To son Edward 20s.. To son in law Henry Reyner a dun horse, and the 10s. which testator lent him. Immediately after testator's death he wishes wood to be sold now growing in his ground at Tillwike and other places where it may best be spared as shall be of the value of £6 13s. 4d.; which sum is to be divided equally between five of his children, that is to say Edward, John, Thomas, Agnes and Jone. To son Thomas the best of the two yearling colts, a cow, and a two year old bullock. To son Edward a cow and a bullock. To son John a cow and a bullock. To daughter Jone a cow and a heifer with a calf. To the four children of Henry Reynerys 12d. each. To son John Slayd testator's black yearling colt. To Sysley Crosbe a yearling cow calf. Residue to wife Agnes to use for souls, she to be sole executrix, with sons William and Thomas supervisors.
