    Folio 109 - Henry Pateman , Bedford St. Pauls, made 26 Nov. 1544, no note of probate. Burial in the church yard of St. Polles of Bedford. To high altar for tithes forgotten 4d.; to the church of Lincoln 2d.. To eldest son John Pateman testator's house and shops in the Bochery or Fyssheroe to him and his issue, and for lack of such issue to son Henry Pateman and his issue, and if Henry die without issue then property to testator's daughter Jone and her issue, in default to testator's next of blood of his name, in default the property to remain to the maintenance of the streets in the town of Bedford. To son Henry testator's house in the Shepechepyng to him and his issue, in default of issue to son John and his issue, in default to daughter Jone and her issue, in default the rent (after the cost of repairs) to be divided among the poorest people of Bedford on Good Friday, by the hands of Master Mayor and the vicar. To son John the table and the form that stand in Water Warneryes house. To son Henry the table that stands in testator's hall in the Schepechepyng and the form and the aumbry. Wife Elzabeth to have all his holdings or houses in the town of Bedford and all his goods as long as she remains single, but should she marry then all his moveable goods bequeathed (except the stools and forms, and aumbry) be divided between his three children. His daughter Jone to have half his moveable goods, and sons John and Henry the other half. Executrix wife Elzabeth and overseer kinsman William Huxeley No note of witnesses and no note of probate.
