    Folio 92 - Robert Amerycke of Dunstable, senior, made August and pr. 26 Sep. 1545. Burial within the parish church yard of Dunstable "nere to the tombe of the Right hand of Emme sumtyme my wyff". To mother church of Lincoln 4d.; towards the maintainance of the parish church of Dunstable 5s.; to the high altar of St. John Baptist 3s. 4d.; to the high way "this syde Catche Hill towardes Hockelyff" 3s. 4d.; to the high way "of the Spyttell towardes Cadington where moste ned is" 3s. 4d.; To Cadington church 3s. 4d.; to Kennesworth church 3s. 4d.; to Tyllysworth church 3s. 4d.; to Blecheley church 3s. 4d.; to Shenley church 3s. 4d.. To daughter Elzabeth 20 marks if she will be ruled by testator's wife Elzabeth and son Robert. To daughter Emme 20 marks, of which 10 marks are to be paid at the day of her marriage, and the other 10 marks a year later, if she will be ruled by testator's wife Elzabeth and son Robert. To daughters Alys and Jone 20s. each. To "my man" Thomas Rest 6s. 8d..To godson John Harding 20s. if he will be ruled by testator's wife Elzabeth and son Robert. To his sister Jone Payn' 6s. 8d.. Legacy of any person dying before they have received it to go to testator's son Robert, and if he die without issue then all the property to be used for souls of testator and all Christians. To wife Elzabeth all the goods she brought with her before her marriage, and she is to have also testator's best "harnes gildell" and a pair of silver beads, for the term of her life, and then to remain to testator's son Robert, and if Robert die without issue, then all to be sold and the money used for souls. To wife Elzabeth an acre of land for her lifetime, reversion to son Robert and his heirs. Wife to have annually £4 in money taken out of testator's lands, which is to revert to son Robert and his heirs. Wife Elzabeth is to have the tenement that John Walter dwells in for her lifetime, reversion to son Robert and his heirs. To son Robert Americke all goods and chattels, to him and his heirs for ever, and all lands and tenements, meadows, pastures, leys and closes, both freehold and copyhold within the counties of Bedfordshire, Herts., and Northants.. Should Robert die without heirs, then all property to be sold, and the money used for souls in alms and charitable gifts, i.e.: to Dunstable church 20 marks; to Blecheley church 40s.; to the highway between Dunstable and Fenystraytford £6 6s. 8d.; to the highway between Dunstable and Markegat £4 6s. 8d.; to the highways of every End in Dunstable 10s.. £10 to be given to the poor where most need is, that is in Dunstable £5, in Blecheley 40s., to Cadington 20s., to Tyllyssworth 20s., and there to be an honest priest to sing for souls for 10 years at £6 a year. His four daughters to have£20 each, and if any die then £10 to go to the poor and in deeds of charity, and the other £10 to be divided between the remaining daughters. Should it happen that son Robert die without heirs, and so the above disposition of his estate take effect, then the Presydent of the Guild of the Fraternite of St. John the Baptist and the Bailiff of Dunstable, and two other substantial and headmen of the same town, with the wardens of the church and the wardens of St. John the Baptist shall sell the properties as above, and the President, Bailiff, and the two substantial men each to have 40s. Testator has at Wendellingborough in Northants. a tenement and a meadow worth 20s. a year which (should son Robert die without issue) is to be sold the the money used for his soul.
