"Furst I bequeth my soull immortall to the marcye of God humbley besecheinge the blessed Virgen Mary the holy mother of our Savyor Criste and all the compeny of Heven to pray for it". Burial at discretion of his wife. At his burial he wishes for five masses to be said or sung for his and all Christian souls. To John Cowper son and heir of Nicholas Cowper of Bedford, baker, all testator's house and appurtenances in Cawdwell Street between the "Kinges maiesties grownd of the Weste Partie on the one syde and the grownd of John Baxter on the este partie on the other syde", John and his heirs to have the house after the death of testator's wife Alys, but charged with the payment to Richard Cowper of Willington senior 6s. 8d.. To Richard Cowper also 2 coats, 2 doublets, a pair of hose, and testator's leather jerkin, and to him (after death of testator's wife Alys) the best kettle. Residue to wife Alys who is to be the sole executrix, with overseers Master Parson Dynsey and John Meygote the curate. Witnesses Nicholas Cowper, John Baxster, John Spenser and John Erby.
