- TitleFolio 31 - John Butler of Lytlington made 6 June pr. 13 July 1544. Burial in churchyard of Littlington. To mother church of Lincoln 2d.; to the bells 20d.; to the Rood light 3s. 4d.. His son John and his wife Margret to have all the land and pasture which they are to divide between them, and wife to have one half of the house, lands and pastures for her lifetime, and on her death this to revert to son John and his heirs. Should son John die without lawful heirs, then son Henry to inherit, and should he die without heirs, then son Thomas to inherit. Should all sons die, then daughter Joan to have the property for her lifetime, then to his other daughters in turn for their lifetime, that is Elezabeth, Katering, Mary, Margret, and if all die, then it is to be sold and the money used in deeds of charity for testator and his friends. Wife and son John to pay to sons Henry and Thomas 20s. each at age 21, and each daughter to get at her marriage 13s. 4d.. To his son John his best pan, and a chest. The crop is to be divided between wife and son John either by the bushel of by the acre. His cart, plough and cart gear to be divided between wife and son John, likewise all other cattle. To his wife all other household stuff. Executors wife Margret and son John, with John Medelton supervisor, he to have 3s. 4d.. Witnesses sir William Shepehird, John Hill, George Ade, William Clarke, John Medelton.
