    Folio 17d - William Wyt/Wytte the elder of Sowthyell' made 31 Aug. 1541, pr. 17 June 1544. Burial in the churchyard of All Sanctes in Sowthyevell; to the high altar for tithes forgotten 8d.; to the bells 12d.; to the torches 12d.; to the Sepulchre light 6d.; to the light about the hearse 8d.. To Alys Lymer his best gown . To his dau. Joan Wytt 20s.. To daughter Anne 20s.. He wishes to have a trental of masses sung for the souls of himself and his friends in Sowthill Church, and wishes that sir Thomas Beyste shall sing them if he remains in the same town. To son John Wytte the remaining years of his lease of his farm, and his wife to have half of the farm with him as long as she remains single. Should she not wish to continue with him then he is to give her £10 in money, a featherbed, a pair of blankets, 6 pair of sheets, a dozen pieces of pewter, 4 candlesticks. Son John to have testator's horses, oxen, kine and all his ploughs and plough gear, cart and cart gear, sheep and all other cattle To son William Wyt of London 20s., and to his wife Elzabeth a ewe and a lamb. Should son John die before the lease of his farm has expired, then William to succeed him and enjoy the farm for the remainder of the term. Should son William also die before the end of the lease, then the property to go to Thomas Wytt, son of John Wyt, and should all of these die then property to go to testator's next heir for the remainder of the term. Margery Hardwike to have a chamber within testator's farm, and there be honestly treated, paying for her board as she has been paying testator, and she to have competent fire for the term of her life, if she wishes to stay. Son John to keep a yearly obit in Sowthyevell church for souls of testator, his wife[?wives] testator's father and mother and all his friends and his children, expending 3s. 4d. a year for John's lifetime. To the two men children of Alys Lymer a lamb. To her daughter Angnes a bullock which is to be kept at son John Wytt's expense, for Angnes' profit, and the beast is not to be delivered to her father. Should wife Margret not wish to remain with son John, then the £10 bequeathed to her to be paid 40s. or 4 mark a year until the whole is paid. Executors to be son John and wife Margret, the supervisor to be son William Wytt of London. Rsidue to be used for souls.
