    I am glad to get your letter but sorry you have been so unwell, but hope that you are recovering. I am interested in what you tell me about your business & your probable future as to housing. I am glad also that the dog Major is well again & has been doing his duty as a guard. I will certainly ask Mr Lennox-Boyd to try and get a picture of Elvedon for you. I believe it is full of colonial troops. I have a book to give you, nominally for Christmas, but as I have got it I will send it to you in a few days by post. It is a new work (illustrated) of the Pavilion at Brighton. It gives the history of the royal residence and also the furniture. I am rather busy just now owing to the Pantry Boy having gone to another place which throws extra work on Cooper, but the book shall go off shortly. Our weather has been bad, but it is brighter today. I have got my root crop in & it is a good one. I have kept well, thank you. With all good wishes for your recovery, I am . . .
