Court held in Luton parish church 8 July 1540 Mylton Harnes. Joanna Claydon appeared and acknowledged that she had contracted a clandestine marriage with a certain John, now her husband, and she was ordered to do penance on one Friday before the processional cross and in penitential garb at Milton Harnes.
