    [f. 13] (see also ABP/R 6 f. 18d) sir Thomas Botall priest, vicar of Steventon "wryte with my owen hande my last will" made 18 May 1539 proved 4 Mar. 1539/40, Burial "where God is plesed"; mortuary according to the king's acts and statutes; to the mother church of Lincoln 4d. To every godchild 4d.; to every maid and maid child within my parish "a wynmyll sayle wiche is ij .d." and the residue of his parish both man, woman and man child [blank] pence a piece. Residue of goods to be divided into four parts of which three parts to be given to his three nephews Richard Botall (to choose it himself or to have it chosen for him), John Botall and Thomas Botall. The fourth part to his servants John Reynold, Joan Reynold and Agnes Reynold, and after the death of John and Jone Reynold, Agnes to have the whole fourth part, charged with the payment to her brother John of 20s. The three brothers his nephews are to be each other's heirs if any die before the age of 25, up to which time their share to be in the custody of William Cavell of Northamton currier. Executors his neighbour John Wylkynson (to whom 10s.) and nephew John Botall; his supervisor Sir John Mordant knight. To John Botall the "Voyten of Wylle" which is in testator's custody. If it please Sir John Mordant knight to have nephew Thomas Botall in his keeping, then he to take him and his portion until the Thomas comes to the age of 25. "That this will is a trew will I dyde shew Thomas Layne and sir Thomas Morys priest and Richard Cowke of Steventon that I dyde make yt whell they went on Procession and so I dyde And also here foloweth the subscription of my owen hande with my syne manuell the wiche I do use in hall my lettres".
