    Bundle of correspondence (pinned together) re redemption of customary freeholds in manor of Dunstable. Comprises: - Printed letter from Charles J. Benning of Town Clerk's Office to Messrs. Munt Brown & Co. of 85 Wood St. London giving notice that the Corporation of Dunstable as lords of the Manor have resolved to require redemption of annual quit rents payable to them by owners of customary freeholds in the manor (price of redemption having been fixed at 25 years' purchase of annual rent) and inviting agreement to redemption upon these terms and voluntary payment of £5.8s.4d (25 x annual rent of 4s.4d.) 2 Jan 1882 (sent 13 Jan 1882 and crossed with acknowledgement of receipt signed by CJB, steward, 24 Jan 1882). - Covering letter in which CJB writes that he proposes 'to record the enfranchisements ... on the Council minutes when completed', a certified copy of which Messrs.
