Scope and Content
Gives to his wife for life and, after herdecease, to be divided according to their marriage settlement: (a) Berristead Farm (as BORDV13/2(c)) and the tithe of Kensworth so far as his lease extends. Gives to his wife for life, remainder to their son John in fee: (b) 2 acs. of land in Caddington lately purchased of Mrs Elizabeth Crawley. Gives and bequeathes to his wife for life, remainder to their son Thomas in fee (excepting the goods of the house which are to be equally divided between the 2 sons John and Thomas): (c) all 'this my house' with gardens, barns and outhouses known as 'Dame Sayres' (as in BORDV13/2(a)) with all goods and chattels belonging thereto and the 'Pryreis' [priory] (as in BORDV13/2(b)) adjoining to it.
