- TitleLetter from John Latham at Congleton [Cheshire] to I return your draft Conveyance & confirmation herein. I must ask you not to make the trustees parties if you want the matter completing without any further delay & from the form of your draft I see they are only parties to pay the purchase money to the mortgagee which you can safely do without the trustees being parties to the new Deed. Mr.H.Latham one of the trustees will give the purchaser an authority on behalf of himself and co-trustee. With regard to the stamp in the new Deed it will not require a £2 stamp if the previous Conveyance is properly stamped. I believe it is more than two months since the Conveyance was received from America but it is not dated. Could not the Deed be dated within the two months & stamped without penalty or is this case in which the Commissioners would remit the penalty under Sub Sec 15 Stamp Act 1850. I have received the other Drafts & have sent them on to Mr.E.Bygott for perusal on hearing from you with Draft & on the other matter I will endorse it on the conveyance & arrange a day for Completion"
