Letter from John Ashby at Staines [Middlesex] to John Thomas Green: "I have this morning received the enclosed letter from Mr.G.Welch. I am afraid I shall be unable to be at Ampthill again just at present, but if you will be good enough to arrange with Mr.Swaffield the amount to be given to Mr.Welch, I shall be greatly obliged. I do not think he is entitled to much compensation. When you have settled with him & the other tenant will you ask Mr.Swaffield to give you a cheque for the amount due, in his hands, and after deducting your costs, kindly send me a cheque for the balance"
