- TitleLetter from Winstanley & Horwood of 10 Paternoster Row, London to John Thomas Green: "Yours to hand this morning with accounts re Bridel & of which I have just sent him a copy. Re Miss Hammond I have see Mr.Pike to day & he tells me that Smith is an uncertificated Bankrupt. The Bankruptcy occurred 18th Feby 1876. Mr.Pike says that you had better consider that the 1/2 Yr Rent (£22.10.0) they applied to you for as per their letter of 25th October last [see HN10/271/Hammond22] has been already paid - viz by the payment made by us in error - thro' Christian - he finds that they received a quarter's Rent due 27.07.1876 but does not know what became of the Yr due Xmas last. She says that the Improved Rent of £45 will have to be sold by P.C. & he will inform you or I of it in due course. I return the 2 letters (Merriman & Smith's) you left with me"
