Last will was prepared by Tanqueray of Woburn, solicitor and reads: - Appointing sister Eliza Francis Moore and Mary Goodall of the barns, Clophill as executors and trustees. - Bequeathing: household effects to cousin Ethel Tomlin, wife of Major Tomlin of 14 Cheyne Gardens, London; household effects to nephew the Reverend Wilfred Roe of Trent Rectory, Sherborne; household effects to said Mary Goodall; household effects to her sister Louisa Ragston Goodall; household effects to sister Eliza Francis Moore and cousin Janet Palmer; jewellery to old servant and friend Elizabeth Olney of Silsoe that formerly belonged to late sister Maria; jewellery to godchild Cecily Causton; wearing apparel and household effects to friend and servant Martha Peat the widow of the late Charles Peat; £50 to Reverend Samuel Compton of St.Michael's Vicarage, Battersea; £50 to said Mary Goodall; £50 to said Louisa Ragston Goodall; £5 to tenant John Mitchel; £10 to Joseph Peddar; £10 to Elizabeth Sherrel; £5 to David Peat; £5 to Mrs. Castle of Hall End, Maulden; annuity of £1 to Martha Peat 'as long as she shall remain a widow'. - Devising cottage and premises occupied by John Mitchel to said Martha Peat; share and interest in house known as Maulden Cottage to sister Eliza Frances Moore; two cottages opposite Maulden cottage to trustees upon trust that Joseph Peddar and Elizabeth Sherrel are allowed to reside in the cottages during their life 'rent, rates and taxes free'. - Trustees to keep 3 cottages in repair. - Giving all residue of real & personal estate unto trustees upon trust to sell, invest and pay income to Eliza Francis Moore during her life and after her decease to pay Mary Goodall £50, Louisa Ragston Goodall £50 and the remainder to and between the British and Foreign Bible Society and the Mildmay Mission to the Jews.
