    Folio 170d Raffe Moreton senior of Mylbrocke, yeoman, made 16 Aug. 1543, pr. 20 Aug. 1543. Testament Burial in the churchyard of St. Michael the Archangel in Mylbrocke. To the church of Lincoln 4d.; to the high altar of Mylbrocke for tithes forgotten 20d.; for the upkeep of the church where most need is 6s. 8d.; to every priest who celebrates mass and is at his burial 6d., and also to those at his month's day 6d.. To his eldest daughter Elzabeth Moreton "being at home with me" 40s.. To his younger daughter Elzabeth 40s.. To daughter Alys Moreton 40s.. To daughter Cessely 40s.. The portion of any daughter dying under age to remain with his executors. To his grandson William Moreton the younger (the son of testator's son William) a sufficient cow, and to his younger brother Raffe a sufficient cow, and both animals are to be in the care of their father. If one son die before he comes to lawful age, the surviving brother to have both. To every godchild 4d.. His wife Agnes is to support Alys Forshaw with meat, drink, hose, shoes, housing, harbour and other necessities "according to hir aveor" for her natural life. Residue to wife Agnes, executrix, with testator's brother in law John Davy of Ampthill executor (to whom 3s. 4d.), the Overseer to be Robert Odill/Wodill of Marton Morten, yeoman, to whom 6s. 8d.. Witneses John Davy, Thomas Tele, Thomas Gurney, Thomas Jelys tailor. Will Testator's last will to dispose of freehold and copyhold property in Ampthill and Milbrocke. To his wife Agnes all freehold property except a tenement called Reeds where son William Moreton dwells, though his wife is to have the use of the barn there with free access to it by his gate. To his wife Agnes also all copyholdings in Milbrocke for the term of her life. To his son Richard Moreton and his heirs male all property in Ampthill on the death of testator's wife, and in default of heirs the property to go to testator's right heirs. To his son William Moreton and his heirs male the house called Reedes in the Cherche Ende of Mylbrocke and a croft and appurtenances, except the use of the barn by testator's widow for her life time, and in default of heirs then the property to descend to the right heir of the testator. To his son Henry Moreton all the copyholds belonging to the messuage where testator now lives, excet one copyhold called Johnsons which is always to be reserved to testator's son Robert Moreton after the death of testator's wife Agnes. To his son Robert Moreton and his heirs male the messuage called Blakes with its lands and pastures in Mylbroke, in default to the right heirs of the testator; also a copyhold called Johnsons held by the testator for a term of years. The persons who are enfeoffed in his freehold lands to the use of the testator are to deliver lawful estates in them to his heirs.
