    Folio 168 John Chandeler of Pertenhall made 15 Apr. 1543 proved 22 Sep. 1543. His soul to Almighty God, to be inheritor with all the blessed company of saints in heaven. Burial in the church yard of Pertenhall; to the church of Lincoln 2d.; to the high altar for tithes forgot 8d.; to the bells and cords 4d.. To the mending of the ways in Pertenhall 20d.. To daughter Jone a cow called Gudlocke, a red heifer, the best coverlet, a pair of sheets (a flaxen sheet and a harden sheet), a featherbed and a bolster, the best coffer, the biggest pot and the best or largest pan, 2 platters, a candlestick, the best board cloth. To daughter Anne a cow called Chere, a quarter of barley, a quarter of pease, a pewter platter, a cupboard. To dau. Margret a weaning cow calf, a quarter of barley, a quarter of malt. To son William a cow called Danssymed, a quarter of barley and a quarter of pease. To sons John the younger, Lawrens and Edward £3, that is £1 each at the age of 14. To son Thomas and daughter Alys half a quarter of barley each. To his mother an acre of barley on the east side of the balk at the "yerde syde". Should his mother die before harvest time, then the barley is to go to his children John, Lawrence and Edward. To his sister Margaret a half quarter of barley. To his son John the eldest a half acre of land at the Mede Way in Standing Filde, bounded on the east side with an acre belonging to the college of Oxford, and on the west with a rood of Water Gray. To son John also a rood in Herrystocke furlong, with Water Gray's land east, and the Oxford college west. The remainder to his eldest son John Chandeler, who is executor, with Water Gray supervisor.
