    Folio 155d Thomas Sparke senior of Grenefild in Flytton made 15 Sep. 1542, proved 12 June 1543. Testament Burial in the church yard of the parish where he shall die. To the high altar of the church of St. John Baptiste in Flit 3s. 4d. for tithes forgot; to the mother church of Lincoln 2d.; to the maintenance of the church of Flit 6s. 8d.; to mending the street in Grenefild 6s. 8d.; to mending the highways in Pulloxhill 6s. 8d.; to mending the highway in Flyt lying by the Vicarage and called The Church Path 3s. 4d.. To the parish of Flytt and Pulloxhill 2 quarter of malt to be given to poor people there where need is. To his son Thomas Sparke 20 quarter of barley, 20 quarter of pease, a quarter and a half of wheat and a horse. To son John Sparke the annuity testator has of Robert Wodill of Marston. To William Goodwyn and John Robyns 30 quarter of barley now in the hands of John Clarke of Westenynge, and they are to have also £6 13s. 4d. in the hands of John Clarke, and if the sum does not amount to so much, then testator's wife Katering to make it up. To every godchild 4d.. To his servants Thomas Turpyn and Katering Cheltam a sheep each. Residue to his wife Katering Sparke, executrix, and his son Thomas Sparke, executor, the Overseer to be testator's brother Robert Sparke. Witnesses sir John Gayle vicar, Robert Sparke, William Goodwyn, Jo. Jenkyns. Will Disposing of property in the parishes of Flit and Pulloxhill: His wife Katering Sparke is to have the house in Pulloxhill next to Marten Layne while she remains single, and she is to have 20s. a year for her life, charted in the tenements called Grenes and Sheperdes. Should she remarry she is to have only 20s. a year charged on the house next Martens Lane. After wife's death, the house next Martens Lane and also the other two tenements are to remain to testator's son Thomas Sparke and his heirs, and should Thomas die without heirs of his body, then the property is to go to the testator's right heirs, to hold of the chief lord of the fee. To testator's son John Sparke the house where Cristopher King now lives, and a close and a rood of land called Humfres Croft lying at Warde Hegges, to him and his heirs to be held of the chief lord of the fee, and in default of heirs then to the right heirs of the testator.
