Elzabeth Prior, widow, of Barton in the Cley made 15 Dec. 1542, pr. 13 Apr. 1543.
Burial in the church yard of Barton in the Cley; to the high altar of Barton for tithes forgot 2 bishel of barley; to the upkeep of the bells 2 bushel of barley.
To Elzabeth Layne a quarter of barley and the half acre of wheat called Lylland. To son James a red cow and barley and beans to the value of 20s. together with the cow. To Thomas (son's son) a half acre on the Long Furlong ready sown at the cost of son James. To John (son's son) half an acre on Shortfurlong. To Alys (son's daughter) a half acre on the Hill in Stony Furlong, which two half acres son James is to sow at his own charge. Her son James is to have testator's two other kine to keep a yearly obit with the profit from them and their calves. Should he not keep the kine well, then sir Richard Landes and Richard Huckell are to be responsible for leasing them.
To every godchild and to every servant 4d..
To sir Richard Lawndes 50s. to sing 5 trentals for the souls of her husband and herself, beginning next Midsummer, and ending at Christmas.
To the church of Barton [?12s.] with which to buy torches.
Remainder to her son James, executor.
Overseers sir Richard Landes/Lawndes and Richard Huckell/Hockell, who are witnesses with Edmund Horne.
