    Anne Cowper widow, late wife of John Cowper, made 12 Mar. 1541/2, pr. 20 Apr. 1541 [sic] "I bequeth my soull to God". To the high altar of Eversolde 4d.; to the mother church of Lincoln 2d.; to the upkeep of the bells of Eversolde 8d.; to the upkeep of the torches 8d.. To Agnes the wife of John Cowper 6s. 8d. and testator's best russet gown; To Anne the wife of Richard Davy of Wakes 6s. 8d., and the worst russet gown. To Agnes Kent of Crowley 20d.. To Edeth Bruar of Grenefild 20d.. To Agnes Hogeson widow 12d.. To every godchild 4d.. To the children of John and Agnes Cowper, that is Richard, William, Thomas, Agnes, Jone 3s. 4d. each, total 16s. 8d.. To the children of Richard and Agnes Davy of Wakes, that is George, William and Umfray 3s. 4d. each, total 10s.. Her executors are to give for her soul on the day of her burial, 26s. 8d., and the same amount on her month's day. Her executors are to provide two "sufficient kyne" and let them for 2s. a year, the money to be spent each year on the Sunday next after Whytsontyde on 3 masses in Eversolde church 12d., in two offerings at 2 or the masses 2d.; to the ringers 2d.; and towards the maintenance of the bells 2d., the residue of 6d. to be given in alms to poor people of the same town to pray for the souls of the testator, and of William Barnewell, sometime her husband. If necessary her executors are to sell testator's best gown and best kirtle. Otherwise these are to go to Agnes Cowper. The residue is to be bestowed by her executors among her kindred.
