Folio 115 William Meryell of Littell Stowghton made 18 Apr. 1541, proved 17 Jan. 1541/2. Burial in the church yard of Littell Stowghton; to the high altar for tithes forgotten 12d.; to the bells 12d.. To his son Thomas Merell 2 ewes and 2 lambs. His son Robert is to "kepe and fynde my dowghter Alys Merell hir leveing yff she will tary with hem and yff she will go frome him then I will that my Sonne Robert shall geve yerely to my said dowghter Alys a whyte coote both large and wyde enowght according to her statur dureing her lyffe". To wife Katering 2 horses, 4 kine, 6 ewes and 6 lambs, 3 brass pots and half testator's pewter. The other half of his pewter to go to his son Robert. To his wife a complete bed and all that belongs to it, with the hangings. Wife Katering to have her dwelling in his house for her lifetime. Executors wife Katering and son Robert. Witnesses John Smyth parson of Littell Stowghton, Thomas Rawlinges, John Reynold.
