Scope and Content
Burial in the church yard of All Hallowes in Lytlington; to the church of Lincoln 4d.; to the high altar 4d.; to the Sepulchre a bullock; to the bells 2 bushel of barley.
To his wife Agnes all his household stuff excepting only a feather bed, a mattress, a coverlet, 2 pair of sheets and a bolster, which are to go to his son Henry Archer.
To son Henry Archer his mazer, cart, plough and their appurtenances. To son William 6 silver spoons.
To wife Agnes 6 kine, 20 wethers, 20 sherehogs, 20 ewes and 20 puxes. Wife to have half of testator's crop that is made already. To wife Agnes and her children 7 acres of tilth, 5 acres of wheat, 2 acres 1 rood of Rye. To wife his 2 houses at Woodend, one half for her life, the other half until testator's son William come to the age of 21 years, and if William die wihout issue, then the child that wife is bearing, if it be a man child, he to have it at the age of 21. If both die without issue, then property to remain to son Henry and his heirs after wife's death.
Son Henry and his heirs is to have the house at Battelledenend and the house at Bowdenend and all testator's freehold land and mead. Should Henry die without issue, then the property to revert to William and his heirs, in default to the unborn child (if male) and his issue.
If all sons die without issue, then the property is to be divided between testator's daughters.
To each of the children of Gylys Blowefilde and Richard Archar one ewe.
To Alys Tyler 4 ewes. To Kateringe Archer 20 sheep and 2 yearling bullockes.
Wife to pay out of the land at Wodende to daus. Agnes and Mare £5 sterling each within one year of testator's death. To each other unmarried dau. and to the child wife carries £5 within a year of testator's death.
To wife Agnes all the lands and meads testator holds of Thomas Burne for the remaining years of the lease.
To every godchild 4d.. To Jylys Blowfilde's wife 10s..
Residue to be divided between Henry and William Archer.
Executors wife Agnes and son Henry. Supervisor John Lyens gentleman.
