    Testament Burial in the church yard of Okeley. To the mother church of Lincoln 1d.; to the high altar for tithes forgot 3s. 4d.; to the upkeep of the church 3s. 4d.; to the upkeep of the bells 3s. 4d.; sir Robert Parre is to sing and pray in Okeley church for a quarter of a year for the souls of the testator, his father and mother and all Christians. To every child of William Gayle and of William Russhe a sheep. To Thos. Elyat 10 sheep and a bullock. To John Barcock 10 sheep and a bullock. To son Thomas Gayle £6 13s. 4d. to be paid within 4 years. To his dau. Dorathe Gale £4 in money, cattle and household goods on the day of her marriage. A bushel of barley to every housekeeper in Okeley without a plough. To every godchild 4d.. To sir John Gayle a quarter of barley To Symon Gayle a quarter of barley. To Alys Elyat a bullock and a sheep. To Richard Capyn' a bullock, a sheep and a quarter of barley. To Simon Gayle the younger and to Alys Capyn' a quarter of barley each. Will His wife Jone is to have the grounds and copyholds the testator has in his hands for the term of her life, giving the lord his dues. She is not to alienate or make away with any part of the ground without the consent of the testator's son John, neither is she to take anyone to occupy the land with her without the consent of John. To his son Symon all the copyholdings in testator's hands after the death of Jone according to the custom of the town. Executors his wife Jone, sir John Wyan, and his son Symon Gayle. The residue to his wife Jone on condition that she does not remarry, but if she does remarry then his goods are to be divided into 2 parts, one for her and one to be divided between his children.
