  • Title
Letter from the Board of Agriculture & Fisheries to Frederic Tanqueray of Woburn, solicitor… 'I am directed to point out that the Duke of Bedford's offer (approximately £600) for the 13a 2r 30p of Glebe land now proposed to be sold is not a such a high rate per acre as His Grace paid last year for 1a 2r 32p of scrub land whereas the present land appears to be much superior in quality to that then sold. I am therefore to enquire whether the offer can be increased and to say that, on the facts before them, the Board cannot see their way to approve a sale for less than £50 per acre, the timber being paid for in addition'.
