Letter from Joseph Vigor Pickford at Manor Farm, Micheldever [Hampshire] to Frederic Tanqueray: !I am sending you the particulars of the late Joseph Henry Jefferson at the time of his death as near as I can and should like for you to prove the will if it as [sic] to be don [sic]. Mr.Swaffield Valuation of what was on the Farm 937/14/0. Bond to his Mother Mrs.Jefferson 800. Bills owing 630/7/9. Due to E.Pickford on money put in 404. 1,834/7/9 - 937/14/0 = 896/13/9. So you see that if it was settled up he would have died 896/13/9 in debt. Please settle it up for us."
