  • Scope and Content
"Herewith you will receive extracts from the Irchester Court Rolls as to the Copyhold Estates formerly belonging to Jeffery Fisher. I cannot find any admission thereto since that of 1748 wither the Daughter Ann, her Husband James Hesse, George Brooks, John Thomas Brooks, or Mr.Beaumont. The Inclosure Award dated the 10th May 1773 shews Freehold allotments to Jeffery Fisher of 63a 1r 15p and 2a 1r 1p and a Copyhold allotment of 19a 0r 34p and the allotment of 2a 1r 1p was exchanged with the Feoffees of the Town Lands for a Freehold Close containing 0a 3r 21p of equal value. The Award states that the Freehold allotments were awarded to Mr.Fisher in lieu and full compensation for all his Freehold Lands in the fields and meadows and that the Copyhold allotment was awarded to him in lieu of and full compensation for all his Copyhold Lands in the said fields and meadows. I shall be happy to render you any further assistance in my power. PS as you will probably require an admission to the Copyhold Property, I will attend to your instructions - you are probably aware that I can admit out of court"
