- Scope and ContentReciting: - that JHB was entitled to interest in an estate near Ampthill called Flitwick Manor House Estate; - a marriage had been agreed between JHB and Sophia Margaret Myburgh Cloete of Calcutta [India], spinster; - the marriage treaty agreed, amongst other things, that JHB should execute the bond to RWB and GHB charging his interest in the Flitwick Manor House Estate with payment of 9,000 secured by the bond; - RWB and GHB should stand possessed of the ,9000 upon trusts as expressed in the marriage settlement of 21 Dec 1850 between (1) JHB; (2) Sophia Margaret Myburgh Cloete; (3) RWB and GHB; Condition: - if the marriage occurred and JHB paid 9,000 to RWB and GHB the bond would be void Witnesses: - J.E.D.Bethune of Chowinghee Calcutta; - L.Oliphant of Russell Street, Chowinghee Endorsed Deed of Charge: - John Hatfield Brooks in pursuance of the agreement charged all his interest in Flitwick Manor House Estate with payment of 9,000 and promised to undertake any conveyance etc. they demanded to more efficiently charge the premises
