    Letter from George Savage of 38 Campsbourne Road, Hornsey [Middlesex] to J. & J.T.Green: - "Yours of the 25th to hand demanding of me with threats 10 on my promissory note under the instructions of Mr.Meager. I beg to inform you that the 10 I owe to the estate [see HN10/276/Owen1] never were a Loan but placed in my care for safety. I credit the amount to the estate and enclose copies of loan of 20 payable on demand with interest due from Mr.Meager, one of 15 from Mr.& Mrs.Austin and one of 1 to Mr.Geo.Brewer with 10 IOU by myself. I beg to inform you that Mr.Meager promised by in Feby last to place this matter in your hands at once my name standing first as Executor to my Aunt's Will. Why he has withheld doing so until now is for him to explain; also what became of all the household goods for which himself and Mr.Swaffield Auctioneer of Ampthill are responsible. I wrote to Mr.Swaffield in May 1880 after they held a Sale asking for Copy of Articles sold the amount they realised and instructed them to hold the proceed for the present. I have never yet received a reply. I demand full satisfaction in the whole matter from Mr.Meager"
