    Letter from Halse, Trustram & Company of 17 Old Burlington Street, London to Frederic Tanqueray at Woburn: - "We have succeeded in obtaining an Order for the trial of this Action under 19 and 20 Victoria cap 108 sec 26 in the Leighton Buzzard Court. We enclose the Order and duplicate to file, together with the Writ Amended Defence and Reply being the Pleadings in the Action, also Statement of the Particulars of demand. These with a Memorandum as to the names and addresses of the parties and Solicitors are all we think that you will require under Rule 1 of Order 33 County Court Rules of 1886. In case they may be essential we send the following further papers in the Action - (1) Original Writ (2) Notice of Appearance (3) Affidavit in support of Summons under Order XIV (4) Defendant's Affidavit denying indebtedness beyond 8.18.1 and swearing that 15 was charged for Bricks paid for before delivery (6) the Summons under Order XIV giving leave to Defend as to the 15 (7) Original Defence (8) Order to strike out the Defence unless amended within four days (9) Amended Defence (10) Order for particulars how payment made (11) the particulars delivered under that Order (12) Summons we issued for better particulars as to fix the 15 upon which the Master declined to give us any Order the Defendant stating that he relied on no payment other than the payment set out in the particulars and (13) Draft Reply You must not forget the action is sent to the County Court merely for Trial - and remains a Superior Court action"
