Letter from John Thomas Green to an unknown recipient: - "I think Mr.Swaffield had better write at once to Mr.Peter Hay asking whether or not Mr.Knapp will take all the Roots at a Valuation in the usual and request a definite answer within a day or two - as he (Swaffield) is preparing for a sale of the Effects on the Farm and must know whether or not to include the Roots. I think also he should go to see the Misses Goodman on the earliest day he can - trusting to them first names the day and hour - whether he can do anything more same day by seeing what he has to sell he must gauge for himself"
