To pay a fine of 1s '(wch ffine he has paid)' and then be discharged Also to detain Robert James, committed for running away from his family and leaving them chargeable to the parish of Wilden. To be detained 1 month and to be publicly whipped on the Saturday of the end of the month at Bedford Market Cross between 11 and 12. Also to detain Thomas Batchelor committed for running away from his family and leaving them chargeable to Wootton, for 6 calendar months 'it being his second conviction..'. To be publicly whipped at Bedford Market Cross next Saturday between 11 and 12, and again on the last Saturday before his discharge. Epiphany Sessions
