Memorandum of agreement between Thos Barnard and JPs regarding the advance of 16,500 for gaol enlargement, 27 June 1848 Proposal of Thomas Barnard regarding the loan, 18 May 1848 Mortgages as above nos: 13-20 (to be repaid 1861-1868) [copies of those in QGR1/19/1] Charges on police rate to secure repayment to Thomas Barnard of 800 (in 100 instalments) borrowed for the building of Luton Police Station, 17 Oct 1848 Mortgage and Charge on County rates to secure 4000 lent by Thomas Barnard for enlarging gaol, and interest at 5% pa. (numbered 31-to be paid off at Easter 1852)
