The former 'Clifton Fields Infant School' which opened for teaching 3rd Nov 1870. See S.D. Clifton Fields 1/1 [log book], which has at the beginning the "Size of Infants School - Builders-dimensions." which also give the size of the apse. The 1877 directory says "In 1871 an Infants' school and teacher's house were built in Clifton fields by the rector [the Revd. Hen Hugh Miles, M.A.] and are entirely supported by him". The school closed in 1931, and was formerly of course in the parish of Clifton
