62, Tavistock Street. Shop kept by Walter Thos Simmons "The noted fried fish and oyster shop". The photograph appears to have been taken about Christmastime as there is also a great deal of poultry hanging up and also rabbits. Also in the window is a Rugby Union Football poster regarding a charity match to be played at Goldington Road between University College and Mr R. Willett's XVI, but the date cannot be read. c. 1905. Oysters are priced at 16 for 1/- and 12 for a 1/-. [The shop is still [1983] a fish and chip shop.
