Thomas Goss, dairyman and Joseph Roberts, butcher, both of Sharnbrook gave evidence that they had received a warrant of distress and sale of goods of Joseph Godfrey gent. otherwise called Dr. Godfrey and others who had not paid a poor rate of 24th March last, and that John Briton, farmer, a Constable, had refused to assist them to make a distress.
