    Abstract of Title to copyhold hereditaments in Shortmead Street, Biggleswade purchased by Joshua Malden from John Foster, abstracted by William Thomas Chapman of Biggleswade, solicitor, abstracting: (I) Release Parties: (1) John Lawrence; Martha Newton; (2) Christopher Newton, gentleman; (3) John Foster of Biggleswade, merchant Reciting: - will and codicil of C.Newton; - death of C.Newton and proof of his will in PCC on 16 May 1801; - Charles Newton had not surrendered his copyhold premises to use of his will thus they descended to (2), his eldest son who was admitted tenant on 29-30 Apr 1800; - surrender of (2) of 12 Jun 1800 to use of (1), Edward Martin, Neville Thomlinson and J.Caesar upon trusts set out in will of C.Newton deceased who were admitted on 13 May 1801; - indenture of 30 Apr 1802; - Edward Martin and Neville Thomlinson were both dead; - (2) had contracted sale of (a)-(b) to (3) for 345 bid at auction and that (a)-(b) had been freed of all encumbrances except 2d quit rent; - (2) had agreed to join in transaction in case any question arose as to title; - (1) and (2) surrendered (a)-(b) to use of (3) Operative Part: - (1) released (a) to (3) for 345 ; - (2) released (a) to (3) for 10/- Property: (a) cottage, 2 other cottages, 2 barns, yard and garden in Shortmead End, Biggleswade with frontage of 77 feet and 154 feet depth to currant hedge belonging to (1) dividing garden to E from garden of 2 other cottages belonging to (1) in occupation of Miller Albone and Richard Larman; formerly part of estate of Edis Albone, afterwards Edis Albone his son, then in occupation of Edis Albone, Robert Burrows and Mary Green, then Henry Larkins, Edis Albone and William Carter; (b) common right for 1 horse, 2 cows and a breeder on commonable lands of Biggleswade belonging to (a) in occupation of Joseph Taylor Covenant - by (1) to produce indenture of 30 Apr 1802 (II) Absolute surrender of 10 Dec 1812 by John Lawrence and Martha Newton of (a)-(b) in (I) to use of John Foster (III) Admission of John Foster to (a)-(b) in (I) on 27-28 Apr 1813 (IV) Absolute surrender of 22 Jun 1814 [out of court, never subsequently presented] by John Foster in consideration of 400 from Joshua Malden of Biggleswade, auctioneer of (a)-(b) in (I) to use of Joshua Malden (V) Bond of 22 Jun 1814 binding John Foster indemnifying Joshua Malden (VI) Admission of John Nathaniel Foster to (a)-(b) in (I) on 28 Apr 1848 reciting will of John Foster of 6 Feb 1847 devising copyhold premises to his son Blyth Foster and others to Margaret Byles for her life, devising residue of his estate to John Nathaniel Foster; death of John Foster on 7 Jul 1847 and proof of his will in PCC (VII) Absolute surrender of 24 May 1869 by John Nathaniel Foster to use of George Newbery - reciting will of Joshua Malden of 7 Dec 1837 devising (a)-(b) then in occupation of John Bewers and William Conquest to his daughter Mary Morton for her life, remainder to George Newbery and John Ryland in trust to receive rents and profits for benefit of children of Mary Morton during life of his daughter Elizabeth Burton and devising cottage in Shortmead Street in occupation of John Gudgeon to George Newbery and John Ryland upon trust to receive rents and profits during lives of Mary Morton and Elizabeth Burton, remainder upon trust for sale; - death of Joshua Malden on 8 Aug 1839; - both Mary Morton and Elizabeth Burton were dead; - John Ryland was dead, leaving George Newbery sole trustee; - will of John Foster of 6 Feb 1847 devising (a)-(b) to John Nathaniel Foster as in (VI); - death of John Foster on 7 Jul 1847 and proof of his will in PCC on 24 Sep 1847; - admission in (VI); (VIII) Admission of George Newbery to (a)-(b) on 29 Apr 1870
