Copy surrender, Manor of Biggleswade, before Thomas James Hooper and Samuel Taylor, two customary tenants by John Nathaniel Foster of Biggleswade, merchant to use of George Newbery Reciting: - surrender of 22 Jun 1814 by John Foster to use of Joshua Malden of (a) cottage and two adjoining cottages with two barns, yard and garden adjoining in Shortmead Street, Biggleswade, containing 77 feet on W on street extending eastward 154 feet to a currant hedge separating surrendered garden at E from garden of other two cottages in occupation of Miller Albone and Richard Lawman; formerly part of estate of Edward Albone, then Edis Albone, his son, in occupation of Edis Albone, Robert Burrows and Mary Green, then Henry Larkins, Edis Albone and William Carter; (b) right of common for one horse, two cows and one breeder on Biggleswade common lands in possession of Joseph Taylor; - surrender never presented to Lord of Manor; - will of Joshua Malden of 7 Dec 1837 devising two of cottages in (a) by description of two messuages in Shortmead Street, Biggleswade in occupation of John Bewers and William Conquest to his daughter Mary Morton for her life, remainder to George Newbery and John Ryland upon trust to receive rents etc. for use of all children of Mary Morton during life of his daughter Elizabeth Burton; - will devised other cottage in (a) by description of messuage in Shortmead Street in occupation of John Gudgin to George Newbery and John Ryland in trust to receive rents etc. during lives of Mary Morton and Elizabeth Burton, remainder in trust for sale; - death of Joshua Malden in May 1839 and proof of his will on 8 Aug 1839; - Mary Morton and Elizabeth Burton were both dead; - John Ryland was dead; - will of John Foster of 6 Feb 1847 devising all his real estate to his son John Nathaniel Foster; - death of John Foster on 7 Jul 1847 and proof of his will PCC on 24 Sep 1847; - admission of John Nathaniel Foster on 28 Apr 1848; - George Newbery, on being advised that surrender of 22 Jun 1814 was void requested John Nathaniel Foster to surrender (a)-(b) to him upon trust
