Copy Conditional Surrender, Manor of Biggleswade, by Walter Robarts, gentleman and William Thomas Chapman, gentleman, two customary tenants by John West of Biggleswade, gardener in consideration of 250 paid him by Frederick John George Jones of Stevenage [Hertfordshire], bank clerk and Joseph Potter Clark of Bassingbourn [Cambridgeshire], miller (money they held in a joint account) of two tenements, yard, 2 barns and piece of garden in Shortmead Street, Biggleswade, containing on W 25 feet 3 inches (part of land of John Foster who was admitted on 28 Apr 1813 on surrender of John Lawrence, Martha Newton and Charles Newton) late in occupation of John Bewers and William Conquest, since Charles Newman and John Partridge, afterwards William Stokes and John West the father, deceased, then John West alone and used as a dwelling house and grocer's shop, now occupied as two dwelling houses by John West and John Forargue, with right of way over property to N of John Malden and to which John West was admitted tenant on 28 Apr 1876 as heir of his father John West; to use of Frederick John George Jones and Joseph Potter Clark
