- TitleRelease Parties: (i) Benjamin Hensman of Bedford, weaver; (ii) Anne Hensman of Bedford, spinster; (iii) Mercy Hensman of Bedford, spinster; (iv) Thomas Woodward of Bedford, gentleman; Charles Bithrey of Bedford, gentleman Reciting: - will of George Hensman of Bedford, perukemaker, of 18 Sep 1742 devising, amongst other things, his messuages in White Horse Street, Bedford, divided into 5 dwellings, one untenanted, the others in occupation of [blank] Willis, John Rush, Richard Hewitt and Thomas Wootton to his siblings (i)-(iii) as tenants in common; - (i)-(iii) had "employed some skillful persons, their friends and neighbours" to survey and value the premises, a value of 30 being agreed; - (i)-(iii) had intended to divide the premises between them but, finding it impracticable due to differing values of each dwelling, had decided to sell two tenements (that in occupation of Thomas Wootton and that untenanted) to (ii) for 35, Benjamin Hensman taking 30, Anne and Mercy sharing the other 5, Benjamin then conveying the remaining dwellings to Anne and Mercy Operative Part: - Thomas Woodward paid 30 to (i) and 2/10/- each to (ii) and (iii); - (iv) paid 5/- each to (i)-(iii); - (i)-(iii) conveyed (a)-(b) to (iv) Property: (a) 2 tenements devised to (i)-(iii) in will of George Hensman, being in White Horse Street, Bedford, St.Paul, alias White Horse Lane, alias Duck Lane; being two tenements in occupation of Thomas Wootton and (ii)-(iii) standing at bottom of yard bounded: S by garden of John Phillips; W by garden of Thomas Woodward; N by garden of Thomas Hawes, deceased; E by yard of messuages; (b) 3 other tenements devised in will of George Hensman now in occupation of John Rush, Richard Hewitt and Thomas Horkett with barn in occupation of John Rush Habendum: - (a), with right of way through gates next to the street and across the yard, with third part of yard, to (iv) to use of Thomas Woodward - half (b) with right of way through gates next to the street and across the yard, with third part of yard, to (iv) to use of (ii); - half (b) with right of way through gates next to the street and across the yard, with third part of yard, to (iv) to use of (iii) Witnesses: - Griffith Morgan; - John Rush
