Will [3 Jul 1886]:
- his executrix and executors to be his wife Elizabeth Sarah and brother William Charles of West House, North End, Hampstead [Middlesex] and his friend Francis Adams of Shamrock Lodge, Park Hill, Clapham [Surrey];
- trustees of his will to be William Charles Staines and Francis Adams, for which they received a legacy of 21;
- separate legacy of 100 to William Charles Staines;
- his wife to be guardian of their infant children;
- to his wife all plate, linen, china, glass, books, pictures, prints, furniture, articles of household use or ornament, wines, liquors and consumable stores etc,. in his dwellinghouse except money and securities;
- to his wife a legacy of 300;
- to his trustees all real estate and other personal estate, including business capital, in trust for sale the income to be paid to his wife for her separate use to support the children, remainder to the children;
- under Clause 7 in Articles of Partnership of 17 Jun 1886 made with George James Lyall, his son Arthur Joseph and nephew Charles John Staines to become entitled to his share of the partnership in the proportion of three fifths and two fifths respectively, the trustees to act for his son until he became 21
